The Ultimate Guide to Wig Textures: Straight, Wavy & Curly
Texture changes everything about how a wig looks, styles and lasts. Here is how the three MyLushWig textures compare.
Straight
Straight textures sit sleek and smooth with fluid movement and subtle body. They are the easiest texture to wear day to day, take a centre or side part cleanly and move from everyday wear to evening styling with very little work. Straight hair shows shine more readily, so a light serum and a low heat setting is usually all it needs.
Wavy (Body Wave)
Body wave sits between straight and curly: loose, flowing waves with volume and bounce. Wear the waves defined for a polished finish, or brush them out for a softer, fuller look — a firm favourite among brides. Waves hold well after washing and can be refreshed with water and a little leave-in conditioner rather than heat.
Curly (Burmese Curly)
Curly textures give the most volume and the boldest silhouette. Curls can be worn defined for structure or fluffed out for extra fullness. Curly units benefit from finger styling, a wide-tooth comb only when wet, and regular conditioning so the curl pattern stays springy.
Choosing your texture
Think about how much styling time you want, how much volume suits your face shape and how the wig will be worn most often. If you want low maintenance and sleekness, choose straight. If you want movement with flexibility, choose body wave. If you want volume and personality, choose curly.
